“Nearly 1.2 million Hoosiers are employed by a small business, with more than 97 percent of all Indiana businesses being classified as small.

Indiana Entrepreneurship Week celebrates “all things entrepreneurial” in the Hoosier state. From the steel manufacturer in Elkhart to the chic fashion boutique in Bedford, entrepreneurs from across the state are creating an impact in Indiana and driving the economy in their communities – igniting a spark throughout Indiana.

Proclaimed by the State of Indiana, Entrepreneurship Week highlights those individuals who have dedicated their lives to entrepreneurship and small business. To honor these men and women, Entrepreneurship Week shines a light on those who turn their passions into reality and are igniting Indiana’s economy.”  — IgnitingIndiana.com

The Indiana Office of Small Business and Entrepreneurship (OSBE) established Entrepreneurship Week as a week-long celebration to showcase Indiana’s top entrepreneurial talent, promote entrepreneurship as a profession and educate small business owners on related topics.

Our small businesses are the lifeblood of our community and the Chamber is here to assist all of our entrepreneurs and small business owners throughout the year. In recognition of the great number of entrepreneurs who chose to start their business in Martinsville and Morgan County and their significant contributions to our economy and our community, the Martinsville Chamber was excited to participate in the recent inaugural Indiana Entrepreneurship Week activities. As part of the week long celebration, Chamber members conducted “cash mobs” at several businesses, an “Eat Local & Vote” campaign was held and an emerging leaders group was launched.   THE SOURCE – a co-work space where new ideas come to life,  also opened its doors for the first time, during our mid-week community celebration.
