Operation Morgan County Van for Veterans

By | September 18, 2018

The Morgan County Veterans Affairs Office is coordinating an effort to obtain a new Ford, Econoline, ten passenger van, to transport veterans to their VA appointments.  The goal is to raise $18,600 to match a grant for the same amount offered by the Disabled American Veterans (DAV).

Morgan County Marine Corps League Detachment #1367, a non-profit organization, has established a Veteran Van Fund holding account, and now collecting tax-deductible donations.  The account was created exclusively for the van program and is serviced through Home Bank.  Individuals, Businesses and Community groups can make their contribution to the “Marine Corps League of Indiana” RE:  “Morgan County Veteran Van Fund.”

Additionally, volunteer drivers are needed now and can apply to become part of a patriotic Volunteer Transportation Network to help our Guardians of Freedom attend their much-needed VA appointments.  A valid Driver’s License and an approved VA application will get you started.  Grateful for your freedom, and value veterans who took the oath to protect it?  Join a team that makes a difference in the lives of those who sacrificed for us.
