The Art Sanctuary is seeking eclipse-related artwork for its March Gallery show. Artwork from any area artist, student, amateur, or professional, as well as artwork completed in the February 24th art classes* is welcome in the March Gallery Show at the Art Sanctuary’s Eclipse Art Show, “Not So Starry Starry Night.”  Each entry must have a celestial theme. Turn-in will be Sunday, March 3rd, 2-4 pm, and Monday, March 4th, 4-6 pm.

There will be a $2 fee per artwork for adult work with a limit of three pieces, each no larger than 30” in any direction, including frame. Three-dimensional work is welcome if it is stable and self-standing and weighs no more than 20 lbs. Adult wall pieces must be framed with a hanging wire (no sawtooth hangers). Student work will be displayed on a table if not framed.

The opening for the show will be Friday, March 8, from 6:00 – 9:00 pm, in conjunction with the monthly Second Friday Open Studio Night. The exhibit will be open for viewing from 6:00 – 7:00 pm and again from 8:00 – 9:00 pm.

At 7:00 pm, Rick Galloway from the Indiana Astronomy Society will be giving a brief lecture on the eclipse, the history of eclipses, the anticipated path, and safe viewing techniques.

*Youth art from the classes may be taken home at the end of the evening reception.
