Lilly Endowment provides support for community development planning.

With support from the Lilly Endowment, Community Foundation of Morgan County (CFMC) is excited to announce efforts to create a county-wide community development plan. Addressing Social Determinants of Health, CFMC will engage residents and stakeholders of Morgan County to assess the quality of life challenges and provide a five-year work plan for the organization.  CFMC Executive Director, Ed Kominowski states, “We’re thankful for the opportunity from the Lilly Endowment to enter a new level of engagement with residents of Morgan County and work with our partners to enhance and create new levels of services, programs and funding assistance for all.”

CFMC will spend the next few months talking with Morgan County residents to identify employment, education, financial, healthcare, nutrition and environmental challenges.  CFMC is conducting a first of its kind grassroots effort to align the organization’s planning effort with resident need. CFMC will host a series of community conversations, attend county-wide events and work with local businesses, schools, and churches to ensure that all residents of Morgan County have a voice. Residents are encouraged to visit to provide feedback. Surveys will also be available at local businesses and Morgan County library branches.

CFMC has a long history of supporting Morgan County residents by connecting donors to more than 180 funds, providing grants to community organizations, scholarships to local youth and building community by tackling Morgan County’s greatest issues. Through this planning effort, CFMC will enhance existing programs and develop new partnerships and funding with a direct impact to serve all individuals who call Morgan County home.

The mission of the CFMC is to connect donors and their charitable giving with our evolving community needs in order to enhance the quality of life for current and future generations through impact grantmaking. If you are interested in learning more about CFMC’s current planning efforts, please visit
