Hosted by the Martinsville Chamber and the Martinsville Rotary Club, the March 14th State of the City event was a fun evening of networking that included a delicious dinner provided by Heavenly Helpings, Mayor Kenny Costin’s State of the City interview, Chamber award presentations, and an auction with a variety of popular items.
This annual event is also the largest fundraiser for both the Chamber and the Rotary Club. Net proceeds help support the community initiatives of both organizations, as well as provide a contribution to the mayor’s choice of a charitable organization. This year Mayor Costin chose to make this special donation of $1,500 to the Artesian Little League. In prior years during his term as mayor, Mayor Costin has designated the Haven Youth Center, Wellspring, and Desert Rose as the recipients of State of the City funds.
