Churches in Mission board president, Crystal Rogers, announced today that David Q. Maurer II has been named Churches in Mission’s Interim Executive Director. Maurer has 10 years of experience working as a marketing consultant, fund officer and gift planning officer for non-profit organizations in and around Morgan County, in addition to nearly 30 years working in insurance sales.

Maurer has a passion for serving in his community. He has served on numerous boards and committees across Morgan and Johnson counties.

Maurer will officially begin his role in January 2020, where he will begin to focus on building relationships with donors, churches and community partners, as well as continuing to hone in on developing Churches in Mission’s programs and services for families in Morgan County.

“I am grateful for the opportunity to support Churches in Mission during this time of transition, and to work in collaboration with the board, staff, and community partners to welcome new leadership and our next phase of organizational growth. I bring a dedication to building relationships with key supporters that have a goal of helping a population at risk and marginalized in our community to become self-sustaining. I hold a deep appreciation for Churches in Mission’s past leadership, and look forward to upholding our unique role in Morgan County, ensuring excellence in our continued service to all whom we serve,” said Maurer.

“While this position is titled as an interim role, it is our hope that this is a long-term role for David and Churches in Mission. He has the right qualities, including being a man of faith, that our organization wants in a leader. We are looking forward to him being on board,” said Rogers.
