Morgan County, IN – More than 80 high school seniors throughout Morgan County were recently awarded scholarships from the Community Foundation of Morgan County (CFMC). These graduates represented Martinsville, Mooresville, Monrovia, Eminence and Indian Creek High Schools.
“It’s so exciting to see our Morgan County students succeeding,” said CFMC President Brittani Bentley. “Each scholarship awarded helps our students pursue a post-graduation plan with less financial debt.”

Since 2005 CFMC has been a source of numerous scholarship funds for two- or four-year college or vocational school programs. This year, CFMC heavily marketed its scholarships and increased applications by 38%. “Over half of our scholarships offered this year were specifically for students who had less than a 3.5 GPA or are pursuing a vocational degree and this speaks to a fair majority of Morgan County students’ population,” said Jessica Schwarz, CFMC Community Development Officer and Scholarship Coordinator. Individuals and organizations can set up a scholarship, such as an endowment, and CFMC will manage the daily administrative and financial needs of that fund.
