Martinsville

  • SR 37 between SR 39/Morton Avenue and Morgan Street is closed to north-south traffic. The detour follows SR 39, SR 67 and SR 144. Grand Valley Blvd., Burton Lane, Ohio Street and SR 252 remain open for access across SR 37.
  • Reuben Drive is closed west of SR 37 past Kristi Road.  Existing SR 37 pavement is being used to provide a temporary connection for SR 44 to SR 252/Hospital Drive. This closure will remain in place until later this year.
  • Southview Drive between the Williamsburg Apartments and Mahalasville Road is expected to open next week.
  • Ohio Street is scheduled to shift onto its permanent alignment next week.
  • The SR 44 bridge over SR 37 is expected to open mid or late July.
  • A 2-day closure is expected early next week on Bobby Helms Boulevard between Ruth Rusie Way and Bills Boulevard in the Artesian Square shopping center (Kroger and Rural King).

Northern Morgan County 

  • SR 37 from Morgan Street to SR 144 is restricted to one travel lane in each direction. Watch for trucks exiting and entering southbound SR 37 as paving continues. 
  • A southbound SR 37 traffic switch will occur late next week.  Southbound SR 37 will continue south on the new southbound travel lanes from SR 144 to Henderson Ford Road.  The northbound traffic will switch the following week depending on the weather.
  • Watch for short traffic delays due to increased truck traffic entering and exiting the construction zone. 
  • Teeters Road (east approach), Ozark Fisheries Drive, and Myra Lane (east approach) are right-in, right-out intersections.  Myra Lane (west approach) is closed. 
  • Ennis Road access to SR 37 is closed.  The intersection is barricaded but available for emergency access only.  Expect rolling slowdowns early next week between Perry Road and Morgan Street for installation of a temporary traffic signal at Ennis Road and SR 37, which will be operational in September.
  • On SR 37 between the Crooked Creek bridge and Big Bend Road there is an emergency crossover available for emergency use only.  There are barricades that will need to be moved. 
  • Banta Road between Huggin Hollow Road and SR 37 remains closed.
  • Rolling stops for SR 37 traffic could occur between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.  

 Johnson County 

  • All Stones Crossing Road and Travis Road access to SR 37 is permanently closed.
  • A southbound SR 37 traffic switch will occur late next week.  Southbound SR 37 will continue south on the new southbound travel lanes from SR 144 to Henderson Ford Road.  The northbound traffic will switch the following week depending on the weather.
  • Lane shifts are in place in the SR 37 northbound and southbound lanes between Fairview Road and SR 144.  An 11-foot width limit is in effect for the lane-shifted areas. 
  • Periodic flagging will occur at the intersection of Fairview Road and Bluff Road late next week.
  • Watch for truck traffic entering and exiting the construction zone.  There may be short traffic delays.
  • Rolling stops for SR 37 traffic could occur between 9 a.m. and 4 p.m.  

Marion County 

  • Watch for intermittent flagging the next two weeks for trucks crossing SR 37 at Fairview Road and at County Line Road.
  • Watch for flaggers helping direct traffic around mobile lane closures at Keystone Avenue near I-465 between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. mid-week.
  • There will be nighttime closures of the right lane only on SR 37 from Bluffdale Road to Wicker Road late next week.
  • Belmont Avenue at SR 37 will close for two weeks starting in late July.  Aspen Lake Apartment emergency access from Belmont Avenue at Winslet Avenue will be available.  
  • Thompson Road between Warman Avenue and the north location of Stoops Truck Sales will be closed permanently in late-July.  SR 37 access to Sunshine Gardens will be at Epler Avenue.
  • Both Keystone Avenue over I-465 and Mooresville Road over I-465 will close on or after August 1st.
  • Watch for increased I-465 traffic with the closure of the I-65/I-70 North Split.
