The Martinsville Chamber often gets calls about various aspects of the I-69 project and some folks had the misperception that there would be no evidence of construction until the actual 2020 date of the interstate construction. Thanks to Andy Dietrick, I-69 Innovative Projects Delivery & Public Affairs Manager, for taking time to address our members and their guests. In referring to the challenges that INDOT has had with Section 5 (Bloomington to Martinsville) of the I-69 project, Andy emphasized that Section 6 (Martinsville to Indianapolis) will not be a P3 project and will, instead be built using the more traditional INDOT model, alleviating many of the concerns that residents and businesses have had.
Also discussed was an overview of what we might expect to see on and around 37 over the next couple years leading up to the actual construction of the interstate. At the end of his presentation, Andy also answered questions.
