Do you know of a business that had a very successful year and has made outstanding contributions to the community in 2019? Nominate them today for the Martinsville Chamber’s annual Outstanding Business award, to be presented at the March 17th State of the City Dinner. Last year’s winner was Fables and Fairy Tales, a beautiful little bookshop on the square in historic downtown Martinsville. You tell us which local business deserves to be highlighted this year!

We are also looking for the Outstanding Business Professional of the year – a business person, male or female, who demonstrates outstanding achievement and excellence in his/her business or profession, as well as in business, social and community involvement. Pam Hurst, owner of The Sterling Butterfly and Pam Hurst Designs was our choice for the Outstanding Business Pro last year. Who do you know? Nominate them today; download and complete the form below.

Have you had the absolute privilege of meeting Ruth Rusie? Ruth is a very special lady who has volunteered for many Morgan County organizations and has won multiple awards, including the Sagamore of the Wabash, for the exemplary volunteer life she led. United Way, Martinsville Arts Council and Merry Mac Players, Morgan County Coalition for Literacy, Habitat for Humanity, and countless others have Ruth to thank for her many contributions to their causes. Several years ago, the Martinsville Chamber felt that Ruth was truly a living legacy and was setting an amazing example for the rest of us, so we chose to honor her by naming one of our annual awards after her.

The Ruth Rusie Spirit of Service award recognizes an individual for outstanding contributions in the way of volunteering, giving, fundraising, mentoring or caring in the community. The Ruth Rusie Spirit of Service award is named for Ruth Rusie for her inspiring volunteer achievements and outstanding commitment to community service. Our recipient in 2019 was Roger Maxwell. Please help us honor the right person by nominating a deserving individual today.

***All nominations are due by end of day on February 26, 2020. Applicants may not self-nominate, and winners will be chosen after review of the information provided by the nominators. Please call Jamie at the Chamber with any questions (765.342.8110)
