Halloween Trick-or-Treat Schedule Announced
MARTINSVILLE – With Halloween rapidly approaching, the City of Martinsville has announced the recognized Trick-or-Treat hours will be on Saturday, October 30, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 8:30 PM. Visits should only be made during these hours to houses where the porch lights are turned on.
“Traditional” door-to-door Trick-or-Treating remains a higher-risk Halloween activity as related to the spread of COVID-19. If persons wish to do “traditional” door-to-door Trick-or-Treating, treats should be placed in the Trick-or-Treater’s bag/container by the giver, rather than having the treater reach into a bowl for a handful of treats. It is recommended that those giving out treats should also be frequently washing/sanitizing their hands.
For those homeowners who may also have concerns or wish not to have Trick-or-Treat visitors, it is suggested that they simply not turn their porch lights on during the Trick-or-Treat hours.
Changes to this plan, including, cancelation of Trick-or-Treat hours, could take place with short notice should a new advisory be issued by the Indiana State Department of Health and/or the Morgan County Board of Health.
