Job Summary

The Marketing and Communications Manager develops, coordinates, and executes the marketing and communications plan for our growing ministry. This position serves as the chief storyteller, designer, social media manager, digital/ video/print content creator/ publisher, and coordination point of contact for media outlets. The goal for this position is to grow and professionalize Stability First’s communications thereby increasing brand awareness, community engagement, and funds raised.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

· Design print & digital marketing material including annual reports, newsletters, promotions, solicitations, brochures, event fliers, invites, and other resources as requested.

· Responsible for the agency’s online presence including web content, blog, emails, search engine optimization, and social media strategy.

· Identify opportunities to highlight success stories of alumni, conduct interviews, and create photo/video stories and blog posts to share.

· Support Stability First’s microenterprise, Maggie Bags, to increase sales and awareness.

· Support fundraising campaigns and special events and represent Stability First at community events.

· Leverage software reporting and seek opportunities to improve communications.

· Work directly with communication and marketing vendors (i.e., promotions, videographers, printers).

· Engage media outlets to advocate on behalf of Stability First and the recovery community.

· Leverage the Stability First CRM, DonorPerfect, to run reports and create segments.

· Other duties as assigned.

Skills Required

· Strong writing, editing, proofreading, layout and design, and professional printing/publishing skills are essential, including the ability to present concepts verbally.

· Self-starter who works independently, can prioritize projects, meet deadlines/budgets, and think strategically.

· Strong digital and print design skills needed to bolster and professionalize Stability First’s brand.

· Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.

· Ability to manage a fast-paced, deadline-driven work environment, responding quickly and professionally to competing priorities.

· Ability to interact and communicate effectively with donors, media, clients, and staff.


· Bachelor’s degree in a related field (marketing, graphic design, communications, journalism, etc.) preferred. Work experience/certifications are also considered but will require work samples.

· Marketing or communications experience, with strong knowledge and understanding of current trends in multichannel marketing.

· Experience with most of our current digital tools including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, Wix, Shopify, and Constant Contact.

· Experience in graphic design (i.e., Canva, Adobe).

· Experience in video editing.


· Ability to lift 20 pounds or more preferred, however, accommodations can be made.

· Dependable mode of transportation required; current license preferred.

· Comfortable working for and representing a Christ-centered faith-based nonprofit.

About Stability First

Stability First is a faith-based ministry with the mission to address multiple issues associated with the alleviation of poverty. This includes transitional housing as well as a circle of services geared toward assisting low-income individuals and families in increasing their financial stability and self-sufficiency. Stability First was founded in 2015 to elevate Morgan County residents out of poverty and addiction. Since 2016, we have served women out of our Magdalene house.
