UWCI oversees the coordination and management of the IRS free tax preparation program, VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance – staffed by trained volunteers) in Marion, Hendricks, Boone, and Morgan Counties. VITA focuses on providing low-income and/or elderly residents with free tax preparation services, with returns prepared by trained, certified volunteers (community members).

With tax time very quickly approaching, we are urgently trying to secure a Site Coordinator for Morgan County, to oversee tax preparation activities at a singular site, First Christian Church of Martinsville. The Site Coordinator is a paid role at $21/hour (funded by UWCI), with an expected 100 total hours of work beginning 1/22/2024, completing on or before 5/12/2024 (compensation not to exceed $2,100 total).

Should a candidate(s) be identified, we are happy to quickly schedule a phone call with that community member to talk through additional details, expectations, etc. which includes training to meet compliance measures of UWCI’s agreement with the IRS (we are prepared to expedite these onboarding requirements).

UWCI has a standard Consultant Agreement outlining the role and responsibilities, compensation, etc. that can quickly be deployed once we (hopefully) secure a person in the role.
