Hello:
I am reaching out on behalf of Mooresville High School in order to extend an invitation to participate in several exciting opportunities to engage with our students.
Our goal is to expose students to the many paths available to them after high school and help them discover opportunities that match their interests, strengths, and future goals. This includes careers in the trades and workforce, technical and certificate programs, apprenticeships, military service, two- and four-year colleges and universities, and other post-secondary opportunities.
We have three opportunities that we would like to invite you to be a part of:
1. You are invited to a Career Fair on Tuesday, October 20. Arrival and set-up are open starting at 8:00 am. The students will visit from 9:00- 11:30. We will have seniors visiting for the longest amount of time, but you will also meet juniors, sophomores, and freshmen. Our students will rotate through the Career Fair and have a chance to talk with you and learn more about what you do. We have seen students discover an entirely new interest just from one conversation with a career expert. You may also meet students who are looking for a job, internship, or work-based learning opportunity, and some may be ready to be hired on the spot. We will provide a table for you to have a display or an interactive activity. We have noticed that activities draw in students and provide opportunities for conversation about your field.
2. We invite a representative from your organization to visit our school and lead a 25-minute session with a small group of students who are genuinely interested in learning more about careers and educational pathways in your field. “Career Discovery Meetings” will take place on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, or Thursdays between November and February, during the 10:20–10:45 a.m. time frame. We have had excellent student interest and feedback from these sessions.
3. New diploma requirements are placing a greater emphasis on meaningful work-based learning experiences for students. At MHS, we are expanding beyond the traditional cooperative education model to connect students with businesses and organizations that align with their career interests. For example, a student interested in business might complete a paid or unpaid internship with a local company to gain hands-on experience in marketing, accounting, customer service, or daily operations. We would love to partner with your organization to provide opportunities through internships, part-time employment, job shadowing, or other hands-on experiences. Whether you can host one student or help us build an ongoing partnership, your involvement can help turn a student’s career interest into a career path.
Your participation in these initiatives would be invaluable in providing our students with the guidance and inspiration they need to make informed decisions about their future careers. Exposing them to professionals like yourself helps them connect the dots between classroom learning and the skills required for success in the workforce.

Thank you for considering this invitation. We look forward to the possibility of collaborating with your organization.
