Thanks to our friends at Morgan County, Indiana, and Meyer Najem for this update on the courthouse renovations:
Construction is picking up on the Morgan County Historic Courthouse renovation, with weather improving as we move towards Spring.
Good progress has been made on the brick and limestone work for the North building addition. They are on track to be completed by the middle of next Month. The existing brick and limestone around the original building were also gently washed this month, which has brightened up the old limestone.
Interior work has continued with the first coat of paint completed on the second floor. Ceiling grid installation has started upstairs, and more finishes will follow. Some upcoming activities include permanent lighting, duct connections to grilles and diffusers, and fire alarm devices. The first floor follows the same sequence and will be closed behind with finishing activities.
In the basement, new electrical gear has been installed, and this upcoming Friday will be connected to the new permanent electrical service. Fire suppression service has been brought into the building, and so has domestic water.
After the brick and limestone on the addition are complete, sitework and utilities will resume, which you will see ongoing through this fall.
Stay tuned for monthly updates!
