Martinsville, IN – Stability First is proud to announce the opening of Foundations House, a certified Level 3 recovery residence for men, scheduled for January 2025 in Martinsville, Indiana.

The new facility’s Grand Opening was held at 495 W. Morgan St. on Thursday, December 12, and featured a keynote address by Doug Huntsinger, Executive Director for Drug Prevention, Treatment, & Enforcement.

Sobriety Requirement and Comprehensive Programming

Foundations House will provide an alcohol- and drug-free living environment, ensuring residents receive the support and resources necessary for sustained recovery. Admission requires 30 days of sobriety, along with an interview and drug screening prior to entry. While we accept residents on Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) on a case-by-case basis, failure to maintain sobriety will result in discharge with notice and a safety plan in place.

The program will offer Intensive Outpatient Treatment, and Case Management Services designed to connect residents to mental health services, safe work environments, community resources, housing, health insurance, and other eligible benefits. Additionally, Foundations House will provide a combination of voluntary and involuntary groups, including Christian-centered programs and Rent Smart.

Foundations House anticipates an average resident stay of 6-9 months, with a maximum stay of up to two years. The program aims to reach capacity within 3-4 months of opening.

Supporting Recovery

This initiative is made possible by the generous support of funders including the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA), United Way of Central Indiana, IU Community Impact Investment Fund, and individual donors.

While we strive to address the needs of the unhoused, Foundations House is not a homeless shelter. Admission is restricted to those meeting sobriety and program requirements to ensure the safety and appropriateness of care for all residents.
