The County will begin the much-needed renovation of the existing Courthouse this summer, with construction being completed in early 2027. The initial phase of the exterior renovation begins the week of July 14th and includes reconfigured parking, new sidewalks, and ADA-compliant ramps and curbs.

Careful consideration has been given to the exterior Courthouse renovations to minimize the impact on the City of Martinsville and the downtown businesses on or adjacent to the Courthouse Square. All streets adjacent to the Courthouse will be open by Thanksgiving 2025.

Morgan County officials recently conducted two informational meetings about the upcoming revitalization of the Morgan County Courthouse and grounds, slated to begin in mid-July. Downtown business owners, downtown residents, city and county officials, and interested citizens attended both meetings. Learn more HERE.
