BLOOMINGTON – Ivy Tech Community College Bloomington is hiring part-time automotive technology instructors to teach eight-week courses. Day or evening classes are available and are held two times per week. The pay rate per class is $46.50 per hour for a total of 64 hours and classes begin August 19.
The initial commitment is only eight-weeks, with the opportunity to teach more classes if interested. Courses are held at the Ivy Tech automotive garage located in a converted airport hangar at the Monroe County Airport on Kirby Road.
Course topics include:
- Basic automotive service
- Electrical systems
- Brake systems
- Steering and suspension
- Engine performance systems
- Driveline systems
- Engine fundamentals and repair
- Climate control systems and more
Teacher requirements include five years of experience in the field and a willingness to earn ASE certifications, with testing paid for by the college.
