
Closure planned on State Road 44 in Johnson County
May 12, 2025 Closure planned on State Road 44 in Johnson County JOHNSON COUNTY, Ind. – Indiana Department of Transportation contractor Milestone Contractors, L.P., is scheduled to close State Road 44 on or after Monday, May 19, to complete a small structure replacement project in Johnson County. The closure will take place between South County Road 575 West and South County Road 475 West, approximately 2.8 miles west of State Road 135. S.R. 44 is expected to reopen in late June, weather permitting. During the closure, motorists should use the official detour route, which follows S.R. 135 to S.R. 252 to I-69 to S.R. 44. This project is part of a contract awarded to Milestone in April 2024. INDOT reminds drivers to slow down, use extra caution, and avoid distractions when traveling in and near work zones. All work is weather-dependent, and schedules are subject to change. |

If you have received a text message related to unpaid or past due tolls from INDOT or another state agency, delete the message and report it to the Federal Trade Commission and/or Internet Crime Complaint Center.
State agencies do not send text messages related to unpaid or past due tolls.
In addition, state agencies no longer use GovDelivery to distribute agency messages and transitioned to Salesforce Marketing Cloud for this service in late 2024.
