Master Plan Project Description: Martinsville Parks and Recreation is updating its 5-year parks and recreation Master Plan. The plan intends to align new investments in parks, facilities, and programming with a strong, community-driven mission and vision. The Master Plan is a guiding document for the City to enhance the quality of life for all residents through parks, recreation services, and facilities.
Project Purpose: Guide and set priorities for:
- Land acquisition, park development, trail acquisition and development
- Program development
- Capital improvement priorities
- Partnerships with other providers
- Maintenance standards for various types of parks and amenities
- Staffing and organizational best practices
- Financing options for pursuing grants and utilizing impact fees for park and trail development
- Establishing a connection between parks and economic development
Social Pinpoint’s Interactive Mapping Feature: The Interactive Mapping Activity is an optional extra page on the website that allows users to provide feedback via an interactive map of the service area. Respondents will be able to choose from three different categories (‘Something I Like’, ‘Make a Comment’, and ‘Ideas/Suggestions’) to give feedback.
Social Pinpoint’s Vision Board Activity: The Vision Board activity allows respondents to give their feedback on the plan or anything in the client’s system. Once posted, this feedback will be shown (anonymously) to people who visit this page.
