On behalf of the Martinsville Chamber, board chair Darcy Quakenbush and State of the City event MC Jamin Baxter recently presented the Outstanding Business Professional Award to Bryan Collier, H & R Block and Martinsville Fire Department.
This award recognizes a businessman or woman who demonstrates outstanding achievement and excellence in his/her business or profession, as well as business, social, and community involvement.
Bryan was nominated by a grateful competitor who reached out to Bryan at H & R Block to ask for help during the busy tax season. This competitor had some serious medical challenges and without Bryan’s help, his office would have had to close. Bryan and Amy went above and beyond, working after office hours and using the other business’s software system to ensure that both businesses had a successful tax season.
