The Greater Martinsville Chamber and the Martinsville Rotary Club invite you to join us on Tuesday, April 21st, for the 2026 State of the City. This special event will be held at the Martinsville High School Cafeteria and will include brief presentations by the two host organizations.

Along with the Chamber's annual award presentation, Kenny Costin Mayor of Martinsville will also deliver his State of the City address. Mayor Costin's remarks will highlight the many accomplishments of 2025, along with his vision for the future of our city and what to expect in 2026.

We are excited to welcome Samantha Johnson 13 News, a proud MHS and REWIND graduate, as our MC for the evening.

Please join us for an evening of fellowship with business and community leaders and celebrate all things Martinsville.
This special event serves as a significant fundraiser for the Chamber and Rotary community activities, and provides a donation to Mayor Costin's charity of choice for 2026, the YMCA of Morgan County.

Sponsorships are available at several levels. Please reach out to Jamie at the Chamber office (info@MartinsvilleChamber.com) if you'd like to reserve your sponsorship or donate an auction item.

Tickets are just $35 and are available at the Chamber office (765.342.8110) or from any Martinsville Rotary member.

Thanks to the folks at Morgan County, Indiana, and Meyer Najem for this update on the courthouse renovations:

Construction is picking up on the Morgan County Historic Courthouse renovation, with weather improving as we move towards Spring.

Good progress has been made on brick and limestone on the North building addition. They are tracking to be complete by the middle of next Month. The existing brick and limestone around the original building were also gently washed this month, which has brightened up the old limestone.

Interior work has continued with the first coat of paint completed on the second floor. Ceiling grid installation has started upstairs, and more finishes will follow. Some upcoming activities include permanent lighting, duct connections to grilles and diffusers, and fire alarm devices. The first floor follows the same sequence and will be closed behind with finishing activities.

In the basement, new electrical gear has been installed, and this upcoming Friday will be connected to the new permanent electrical service. Fire suppression service has been brought into the building, and so has domestic water.

After the brick and limestone on the addition are complete, sitework and utilities will resume, which you will see ongoing through this fall.

From our friends at

From our friends at the Martinsville Police Department and The City Of Martinsville, Indiana:

🚨🚨🚨SCAM. SCAM. SCAM.🚨🚨🚨

Well guys… a week later and we’re back with another unfortunate post.

A SCAMMER is calling businesses and claiming to be a Detective with the Morgan County Sheriff Department, who is “investigating counterfeit money”.

This SCAMMER is instructing businesses or employees at these businesses to take money out of their registers or safes and go to Family Dollar. They are given a bar code to utilize at Family Dollar and sending money directly to this SCAMMER. Family Dollar is now aware and will not be allowing these transactions any further. That’s not to say there aren’t other businesses who do accept that form or money transaction and may not be aware of the scam yet.

Multiple businesses have already been scammed. With that being said, PLEASE talk to your employees if you are a business owner. Send this post to your friends who are businesses owners. Talk with your family members who are business owners.

The Martinsville Police Department and Morgan County Sheriff Department will NEVER call you about an investigation and ask you to bring any money to another business (not the Department directly), purchase gift cards, or send cash through QR code/Bitcoin ATM. If you or your employees are EVER unsure, please contact Morgan County Dispatch and let us save you the time and money, 765-342-5544.

If you think you or your business has been a victim of this scam, please contact dispatch above and ask to speak with Officer Baukat.
