Meyer Najem construction update β Morgan County Courthouse
Over the last month, progress has been continuing inside the Morgan County Courthouse. On the second floor, contractors are working on connecting mechanical systems to finish grilles, registers, and diffusers. Insulation and labeling of ductwork, mechanical piping, and plumbing piping have been completed. Ceiling tiles have started to be installed, and trim is being painted to round out the finishes on this floor.
On the first floor, drywall hanging and finishing are complete. Finish work is following quickly behind. Terrazzo placement, prime and first coat paint, window trims, and prep for acoustical ceilings all started this month and will continue into June. Communications and network cabling are also being pulled.
In the basement, ductwork, mechanical piping, and plumbing piping have been installed. Insulation and labeling of these systems are both ongoing. New mechanical equipment is being connected and prepared for start-up.
Outside the building, new aluminum windows were installed on the North addition. Roof gutters, downspouts, and trim should be completed next month. New storm piping has been installed around the site and prepped for tie-in to new downspouts. Contractors have been working on grading and preparing the site for concrete, which will begin being placed in the first part of June. ... See MoreSee Less
