Thank you to all those who took time out of their busy Friday to join us for our annual Third House Session. We had a good crowd, and we sincerely appreciate that Senator Rod Bray and Representative Peggy Mayfield adjusted their schedule to accommodate our meeting.

After giving overviews of legislation they each personally worked on, general information about bills and their status was shared. Submitted questions were then posed by moderator and Chamber board chair Brian Haggard, resulting in some lively conversations between audience members and Senator Bray and Representative Peggy Mayfield. This Indiana State Legislative Session is set to end on Friday, March 27th.

Michelle Gladstein and her team at Chick-fil-A provided delicious box lunches. We typically have some nice door prizes, and this meeting was no exception. Thank you to Steve Powell, Visit Morgan County, Indiana, V3 Companies, Pam McNealy Powell, Morgan County Community Concerts, and The New Narrative Massage for their generous donations of door prizes.

Invite a friend or colleague and plan now to join us for our March 20th Chamber Luncheon at the Morgan County Admin Building, 180 S. Main Street, Martinsville. We get started at 11:30 am with networking and lunch (available for just $10). The more formal part of the meeting begins at noon, with brief announcements and new member introductions. We then pass the mic around so that everyone has the opportunity to introduce themselves and their business or organization to the group.

Congratulations to Kelsy, Bryce, Kevin, and the rest of our friends at Latitude 39, located at 72 E. Morgan St. in historic downtown Martinsville. We finally got some decent weather to celebrate the recent opening of this fun restaurant with a ribbon cutting. The decor, with a coastal vibe, is very welcoming, and the service is friendly. Lunch and dinner menus feature a nice variety; there's something for everyone. Hours are 11:00 am - 10:00 pm Sunday - Wednesday, 11:00 am - 11:00 pm on Thursday, and 11:00 am - Midnight on Friday and Saturday.

Thanks to Kenny Costin Mayor of Martinsville, friends of Latitude 39, and Chamber board members for helping us welcome this great addition to the downtown business community in The City Of Martinsville, Indiana!

Thanks to all those who attended our first monthly luncheon of 2026. It was wonderful to welcome two of our newest members, Andrew Gannon (Andrew Gannon - State Farm Insurance) and Diane Hubbard.

Kudos to Bethaney Latham, MeCAP project director, for a thorough and informative presentation. MeCAP - Martinsville Environmental Community Action Project is conducted by a group of community members and researchers who work together to assess and address the pressing issue of community exposure to environmental contaminants.

This project focuses on the happenings of community-engaged research conducted by community partners in Martinsville and researchers from Purdue University, Indiana University, and the University of Illinois at Chicago.

A delicious lunch was provided by Shane and his team at The Peddlers Loft Cafe. Thanks to Steve Powell, Transnation Title Agency, Domino Security Technologies. Since 1998, The New Narrative Massage, and Hudson Plumbing for their generous donations of door prizes!

Check out the link in the comments to watch Bethaney's presentation and download the PowerPoint.

Plan now to join us for our February 20th luncheon and Third House session:
