We are the one and only locally owned newspaper in Morgan County, Ind., with all local news, all the time.

The primary purpose of the Morgan County Farmers’ Market is to provide an attractive venue for consumers to purchase locally grown fresh produce and goods.

The Morgan County Farmers’ Market Association includes locations in Mooresville and Martinsville, Indiana. The Market is open rain or shine (excluding dangerous weather conditions as determined by our Market Manager).

The Mooresville Market location is in the Friends Church parking lot at Main and Monroe Streets. It is open on Tuesday evenings from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. May through September.

The Martinsville location is The Main Connection at Main and Indiana Streets. It is held on Saturdays from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. May through September.

Please don’t hesitate to stop by and ask questions. Our vendors are friendly and our board members are often present. Besides offering vegetables, fruits, eggs, baked goods and more, both locations often offer live music and special events at the Market itself, and the Martinsville location is often held in conjunction with festive events that are simultaneously held in downtown Martinsville.

Our organization’s goal is to foster a deeper understanding and appreciation for Morgan County, Indiana history.

Our objectives include providing education in history for youth and their families, organizing a county history center or museum, and assisting with 2022 Morgan County bicentennial events and activities.

Morgan County Parks Department vision is to preserve unique environments and historic areas of Morgan County. Morgan County Parks is a developing system of Parks for Morgan County with a variety of activities. The County Council and County Commissioners are dedicated to growing the Morgan County Parks system.

Who we are:

Morgan County Substance Abuse Council (MCSAC) provides free programming and skills training to people of all ages throughout Morgan County in an effort to reduce the incidence and prevalence of substance misuse by adults and youth. MCSAC recognizes that substance misuse overlaps into many areas of concern. To address these concerns such as mental and emotional wellness, suicide, stress and human trafficking, MCSAC offers education and resources to Morgan County residents throughout the year.

MCSAC is a connecting agency and resource to other organizations within the Morgan County community. We currently work with all four school districts as well as the majority of afterschool programs and athletic programs within Morgan County school systems. Our youth focused programs include LifeSkills, Positive Action, and the Be the Majority! media campaign.

MCSAC is the Local Coordinating Council appointed by the Governor of Indiana. MCSAC also has the honor of awarding grants to local community organizations that are working hard to combat substance misuse in Morgan County. Grants are awarded in three distinct sectors: prevention, treatment, and criminal justice. These funds are collected through Countermeasure Fees that are ordered and collected by the Morgan County court system. Countermeasure fees can be ordered against any person who is charged and found guilty of a drug or alcohol offense. These grants are awarded on a yearly basis and are open to any community organization that works with combatting substance misuse.
